Update October 25: I’d like to say Thank You for the responses posted by our readers either in comments or through private emails. It is now confirmed that the following devices can also use the methods described in the article below to make screen shots: Samsung Galaxy S (I9000), Both Froyo and Gingerbread Samaung Galaxy S II (I91000) Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 7.7 Samsung Galaxy Fit (S5670) Some readers complain about unnecessary screen capture on the Galaxy S, when they don’t actually want to do a screen shot. This is mainly due to the lag of Android Froyo when pressing the “Back” key, you should try to upgrade to Android Gingerbread via Kies. Overall Gingerbread has much faster speed and far less lag. As of October 25, the latest firmware you can upgrade via Kies in the UK is GINGERBREAD.XXJVO. This version was out since late June, presumably most countries around the world would have it by now. Hope it helps. Please leave comments if you know the following methods work on any other devices. Before the Google Android [...] Read more »
Samgsung Galaxy S Finally Gets the Android 2.2 Froyo Upgrade via Kies

It has never been so frustrating waiting for the upgrade of a mobile phone. Ever since I own a Samsung Galaxy S, I wanted the upgrade to Froyo. Don’t get me wrong, this piece of gadget was great running Éclair, I was able to do lots of small things on the go which I found it hard to do with Blackberry. You know what, the one thing I REALLY want from Froyo is the ability to view flash images on my browser, so I can say good bye to my Asus netbook and only carry the Galaxy S sometimes. Samsung has had announced the release like a MILLION times all around the world, but it never happened. Well at least all we could see were just some ‘leaked’, ‘hack’, ‘non-official’ versions of the Froyo ROM for the last couple of months. FINALLY, it is here! I have found the tutorial video on Samsung’s website on November 04 but didn’t have time to upgrade the phone then. Last night, after a long struggle with Kies, I managed to make the Galaxy [...] Read more »

Can’t see the Angry Birds in Android Market? Download it now.

You can download Angry Birds v1.3.5 full version here for FREE. Angry Birds is one of the most downloaded games for iPhones and iPods. It gained its popularity of over 6 million downloads through the iTunes store. A BETA version for the game was released to the Android Market on September 3rd, 2010 by Angry Birds’ developer Rovio. Now the full version of this game is also available for download in the Market. One of my friends kept asking if I have the Angry Birds on my Samsung Galaxy S – If not, I MUST download it. I have tried searching for it in Android Market, with no luck at all. Later found the QR code for it from Androlib.com, but when I click the link, an error message popped up saying “file does not exist”. It was very strange indeed. I wonder if any one would shed some light on this particular bizarre problem. Apparently, quite a lot of people using Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Wildfire, HTC Legend and other Android phones cannot even see this game on Android [...] Read more »
Paranoid Android Lyrics
Please could you stop the noise, I’m trying to get some rest From all the unborn chicken voices in my head What’s that…? [I may be paranoid, but not an android] What’s that…? [I may be paranoid, but not an android] When I am king, you will be first against the wall With your opinion which is of no consequence at all What’s that…? [I may be paranoid, but no android] What’s that…? [I may be paranoid, but no android] Ambition makes you look pretty ugly Kicking and squealing gucci little piggy You don’t remember You don’t remember Why don’t you remember my name? Off with his head, man Off with his head, man Why don’t you remember my name? I guess he does…. Rain down, rain down Come on rain down on me From a great height From a great height… height… Rain down, rain down Come on rain down on me From a great height From a great height… height… Rain down, rain down Come on rain down on me TThat’s it, sir You’re leaving The crackle of [...] Read more »

Samsung Galaxy Tab Quick Look

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab took IFA 2010 by storm when it was launched, and the Korean electronics firm has been keen to play up the powerful capabilities hidden beneath its sleek exterior. The Galaxy Tab is slim and light at 380g, but can provide over eight hours of video with its 4,000 mAH battery, according to Thomas Richter, Samsung Telecommunications Europe portfolio management head. A Super TFT display was selected for this battery life, as it is more energy efficient compared to the better quality AMOLED used by Samsung Galaxy S, and less expensive. The battery was the reason for another design choice: the 30-pin connector which was needed to ensure that the battery could be charged in good time. Describing this Android tablet as a “smart media” device, Richter said that its phone function can be used with a Bluetooth headset and the Tab can act as a speakerphone. There are two 3-megapixel cameras at both the back and front of the Tab. They can be used for videoconferencing, and an augmented reality function is available to enhance navigation.
